As the Fleet Health Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating various aspects of a team or department within the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient operation of the team, promote productivity, and achieve set goals. You will be responsible for guiding and motivating team members, implementing strategies, and fostering a positive work environment. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Work is performed under general direction and is moderately complex, while ensuring achievement of results over the annual operating plan.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage and directly supervise the daily operations of Condition Monitoring Analyst, PM Supervisor and Power Generation Operators by assigning or delegating responsibilities and disseminating policies and objectives to staff.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.

* Develop, manage and implement efficient operational procedures and/or schedules, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.

* Monitor performance metrics and take corrective actions to achieve desired outcomes; assume accountability for meeting performance goals.

* Identify areas for process improvement and implement necessary changes.

  • Coach staff and manage resources to achieve company goals in the areas of employee and customer satisfaction, market share, and profitability.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of organization policies, practices, procedures, and attainment of operating goals.
  • Responsible for leading all safety initiatives and is accountable for safety performance in Field Service.
  • Assist with determining shot-term and long-term departmental strategic goals.
  • Confer with subordinate supervisory personnel and comprehends staff reports and records to obtain data, such as status of on-going work or projects and projected completion dates.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with team, customers and across the organization regarding all service work. Demonstrate a positive and professional behavior, flexibility, and effective communication skills in their interactions with customers both internally and externally.
  • Manage departmental budget within scope of responsibilities.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervise employees at the assigned location, providing leadership to all field service technicians. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and conflict resolution.
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention of departmental staff.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate skill development initiatives for team members.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; 5-7 years' experience in the power generation industry, as well as a depth of knowledge pertaining to engine service issues, business accounting, and leadership; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferably 2 years in dispatching in a related industry.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret written instructions and procedures, business correspondence and routine reports.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to understand and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or employees of the organization.
  • Employee is empowered to make decisions directly affecting their ability to perform the above duties and responsibilities. The position requires the ability to define problems, collect data and establish facts.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to follow routine protocols as well as identify when the routines do not apply in a specific situation. The position requires the ability to develop priorities and adjust work plans to meet deadlines. Must be capable and willing to learn Cat DBS System, Lotus Notes System and Dispatch Solutions Transportation System, SIS.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation for the Service Department.
