Job Summary

Passionate about people? Join Chartwells Higher Education at Baylor University in Waco, TX, as a Senior HR Generalist! In this role, you'll leverage your HR expertise to lead complex issues and administration for a high-volume Food & Beverage account. Key accountabilities include full-cycle recruitment, employee training, development, relations, engagement, and HR policy education. Grow professionally with endless opportunities at Compass Group.


Key Responsibilities:

Employee Engagement/Retention:

  • Collaborate with management to improve employee engagement and retention aligned with client objectives.
  • Facilitate participation in corporate engagement surveys, action planning, and year-over-year improvement initiatives.
  • Implement strategies to drive engagement and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure onboarding practices enhance associate performance and retention.

Recruitment:

  • Source and onboard frontline hires, optimizing onboarding and payroll systems.
  • Review and enhance recruitment processes, ensuring compliance with Compass National Recruiting Center (CNRC) standards.
  • Coordinate background checks and manage exceptions or escalations.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a liaison between managers and the Human Resources Service Center (HRSC).
  • Establish best practices and ensure consistency in addressing employee relations issues.
  • Support EEOC and lawsuit claims documentation, providing training on Performance Management and employee relations.
  • Advise managers on employment policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Manage employee relations, including problem resolution, coaching, and performance issues.

Human Resources Compliance:

  • Ensure completion and filing of necessary hiring and termination paperwork.
  • Provide guidance on employee file maintenance for state and federal law compliance.
  • Ensure I-9 and Wage and Hour compliance.
  • Support safety programs, worker's compensation, and leave of absence processes.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Hospitality Management, or related field.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • 3-7 years of HR Management experience.
  • Previous Food & Beverage operations experience beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based programs.
